Betadine is popular as product to treat cuts and wound. Known as Povidone-Iodine, this is a staple in every household's first aid kit. It works by preventing infection and speeding up skin healing. Because of these, there are people who have reported success in using it as a spot treatment for pimples. While it may seem weird putting it on your face, applying it as an acne treatment actually makes sense.
To use as a spot treatment, apply a little amount on a cotton swab and cover the affected area. This is going to stain the face, but that can easily be removed using soap and water. While this is not recommended as a full throttle acne product, it can work during those times when you badly need something to treat a zit.
This dries spots fast and reduces the risk of further inflammation. However, it is not advisable to use Betadine on a large area of the face as it can also clog pores.
