Oilatum Bar: Mild Soap for Coping with Acne

When you are suffering from acne, the last thing you'd like to do is irritate your face. Trying out many products with strong anti-acne ingredients can make your skin dry and irritated. When treating breakouts, what you need is a mild cleanser to maintain the skin's moisture balance. One of the soaps that worked for me during my breakout period is Oilatum soap.

What is Oilatum?

Oilatum is one of the products of Stiefel. It is a pink colored bar soap that was specifically designed to treat dry skin conditions. This is recommended for babies and adults with sensitive skin.

What I Like

  • I like the fact that Oilatum does not have a strong smell.
  • The soap has a light lather.
  • It is easy to rinse.
  • It does not make the skin oily despite the name.
  • It encourages mild exfoliation.
  • One bar lasts quite a long time if only used on the face.
  • It is readily available in drugstores.
  • It does not irritate the skin.

What I Don't Like

  • Oilatum is pricier than most soaps.
  • It can be drying when used twice a day

Verdict

I particularly liked this soap and enjoyed using it. However, I still prefer cleansers that are contained in tubes as I find them to be more hygienic. If you are to use Oilatum, make sure that you keep it dry and store it in a clean soap dish.
