Top 5 Acne Truths

Acne can be frustrating especially when you already have tried everything and the problem still persists. Millions of people are on their quest for clear acne-free skin and most of them end up disappointed and hopeless. Acne can dampen one's self esteem unlike no other. If you're suffering from acne, it might help to discover some truths about acne.

1. It cannot be treated overnight.
Acne is a deeper skin condition than most products play out. It is more than just treating the surface of the skin. Because acne can be caused by all sorts of body issues like lack of sleep, hormonal changes, and stress, acne treatment should begin from within.

2. Product overdose is not helping you.
Having suffered from acne for years, I used to have a cabinet that contains all kinds of products from the beauty aisle and pharmacy. Anything that promises to dry acne, cover acne, and hasten skin healing, I have. What I realized after spending a lot of money is that none of them is helping me. I stopped buying like crazy and overtime, my skin recovered.

3. There is no universal acne treatment.
If there is, I haven't found it. I only know one thing. There is one product that will work for you. In my case, it's a probiotic drink that I have been drinking as a kid to keep my gut healthy. I use it as a mask.

4. You really have to remove makeup.
My acne started when I started wearing makeup. The thing was that I was using a normal face wash thinking that it would suffice as a makeup remover. When you learn how to use makeup, the next lesson is to find a makeup remover that you can use.

5. It takes some time for a treatment to work.
Among the things that I realized now that my skin is under control and healthier is that the biggest enemy I had when I battled with acne was my own impatience. I was so impatient, expecting one thing to wipe my problem overnight. In treating acne, persistence is the key. Once you start to see improvement, hang on and keep it up.

Remember that there are ways to treat acne. Don't give up too quickly.
