When I started battling acne, I got into the habit of buying a new face wash every week. I was on the assumption that the reason why I was having zits was because I had a dirty face. I get very OC in keeping my face clean and soon, I was not just dealing with acne, I was also dealing with dry irritated skin. Most acne sufferers are like me in a sense that they over do the washing. Acne is more than skin deep and no matter how hard you wash your face, you won't be able to get rid of it. In fact you may be doing more harm than good.
Now, I only wash with my cleanser once a day. This minimal cleansing works for me and I find that it also controls the oil too. Also, I use a basic glycerin based cleanser called Celeteque. It has a scrub version but I prefer the one without grains because it's milder and it suits me just fine. Since I stopped being obsessed with facial cleansing products, my skin has become a lot better and healthier looking. I still get zits from time to time, those hormonal types on my chin. What I do is stick to my regimen and conceal the spots when I need to. That simple.
